LOOK! A new site finally in the works!

Alright -

When it rains, it pours.. as the saying goes. When the operation starts taking on this much water, we have no choice but to immediately, change course, repair, rebuild. It's been a long time coming admittedly, but the convergence of numerous forces has just forced me to get this together now.

Mixed in to everything, there's been a complicated, multi-phase move to the South Island the last months, lost my job and the world situation is on the verge of bottoming out which sets a high floor of default anxiety in any normal person. That is all manageable with the right mindset, but the biggest shockwave for me though has been the loss of both my parents, who I loved dearly, within months of each other. Since the end of February, I've been in California away from the New Zealand studio navigating the trudging management of matters related to their home & belongings. It's been a slow, emotional process naturally. The radio stream is and has been a loyal companion / project, so in the darkest times, it's there to keep me company and cheer a guy up, even if it takes a little work. The distraction of working on s&S is often very welcome.

Speaking of work, I had to move the whole streaming operation to a new server a few weeks ago. For the most part, that's been operating quite smoothly, more than I expected even (knock on wood). The website itself on the other hand, is another story. That thing had been compromised and plagued with parasitic web-brain eating worms, so in a never ending attempt to keep it afloat, I ended up running it aground, leaving it inoperable and unsalvageable. I believe the newly sold-off webhost was intentionally allowing this to happen in order to repeatedly upsell security packages and at the same time doubling the hosting fees with no prior notice. Good riddance perhaps. With a little fire under me, I've since been working from scratch on a new site as you can see. Shirleyandspinoza.radio is still a work in progress, it's now up and running for the most part. I'll continue to flesh out in the coming weeks with more entries into The Archive going back decades. It contains a few shows currently, but many more will continue to be added in coming weeks.

Also coming will be the long requested availability of (drum roll) s&S merch!

Yay, right? Right.
